Hi all.

Welcome to the LG RECOMMENDS section of this space. A sequel in many respects to ‘Leo Recommends’ in the original Enigmatic Shenanigans.

For the main part I’ll be discussing albums in here as the majority of single tracks that I like will be covered by the Top 20 section. But LPs should never ever be dismissed, and they are not a dying form of music distribution as some would have you believe!

I might expand this and include a ‘Classic’ section at some point. Good music never dies, after all. But for now I’ll be focusing on 2024 album releases, ones that I like enough to consider placing in a possible top ten end-of-year list. I say ‘possible’ in this regard though, because I’m picky af when it comes to albums, and if I don’t hear at least ten that qualify, I won’t make a list.

However…

With the sheer amount of albums that get released in any given calendar year, coupled with my increased determination to listen to as many of them of interest as possible, I’ve a feeling that top ten happenings will indeed be happening in 2024.

So join me on the regular for my picks. And who knows, you might unearth something that you too will like – if not love – as you do so.
